The Role
- Solving difficult technical problems and coming up with innovative solutions to advance our products as a member of one of our development teams

The Ideal Candidate
- Has a solid background in applying knowledge of Java and JVM to build scalable software
- Has experience with Spring, Gradle and Maven
- Has experience with SQL queries and database performance
- Has experience with Kubernetes and AWS
- Is passionate about unit testing and integration testing (junit, mockito, rest assured)
- Has experience with designing and maintaining APIs for public consumption
- Has experience with building and optimizing for performance
- Is creative, innovative in finding solutions to complex problems
- Is a self-starter and motivates others with enthusiasm and collaboration
- Is passionate about clean code and best practices in computer science
- Keeps his knowledge up to date by following what is happening in the industry
- Has a degree in Computer Science or equivalent studies
- Is familiar with Kotlin

As our Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will be exposed to the latest technology, a pervasive data-driven culture, while immersed in a friendly, helpful engineering organization. As a member of a small team, you’ll be able to shape the evolution of our cloud technology stack and represent our team to the rest of the organization.
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Technical Operations and as part of our team, you will develop and build our infrastructure and code pipelines. Major projects may include platform migrations, multi-region high-availability deployments, CI/CD pipelines, metrics and observability, and more. Bring your thorough, practiced understanding of DevOps and Cloud to help shape The RealReal’s production infrastructure and Technology culture!
What You Get To Do Every Day
- Design, build, and evolve our production infrastructure, strategically employing automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Design, build and evolve our code pipelines, designing and building automation in order to enable agile software development, using self-service where possible.
- Collaborate efficiently and effectively with Engineers and Product teams on complex problems involving functionality and scaling/performance. Drive ad-hoc troubleshooting teams towards solutions during emergency production incidents.
- Advocate for and enforce compliance with 12 Factor methodology in our apps, convincing stakeholders and engineers to use best practices.
- Lead the technical design of projects assigned, pulling in Technical and Non-Technical staff as necessary.
- Quickly absorb context and tribal knowledge while ramping up and using that to build or bolster documentation. Turns obscure tribal knowledge into well-known and understood collective knowledge.
- Keep a strong level of quality and velocity in your work, while collaborating and reporting when appropriate.
- Exercise and promote security best practices
- Participate in an on-call rotation on a regular basis and respond to incidents reliably and professionally. Lead technical troubleshooting if necessary
What You Bring To The Role
- 5+ years of DevOps or Systems Administration experience
- Significant experience (4+ years) building and maintaining highly available cloud infrastructure across multiple regions in AWS and/or GCP
- A self-described expert in automating repeatable processes using popular languages such as bash, python, or other preferred languages
- In-depth and expansive knowledge of Hashicorp Terraform
- Detailed understanding of packaging, deploying and supporting containerized (Docker) applications using the latest orchestration tools
- Experience building Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment workflows deploying microservices to production to allow our developers to focus on building products
- Experience working with Data Engineering and Data Science teams to build out infrastructure to support data pipelines
- Having worked closely with Development organizations, a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, experience using SDLC-style development in infrastructure automation
- Extensive use of git and Github workflows and knowledge about GitOps
- Understanding of database performance in production with experience supporting cloud-based MySQL or PostgreSQL (ie., AWS RDS, AWS Aurora RDS, GCP Cloud SQL)
- Experience tuning and troubleshooting performance for high traffic web services using diagnostic tools such as APM, browser monitoring, logging, observability, etc.
- Strong awareness and understanding of common network protocols, including HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, SSL/TLS, and how they are used
- Knowledge and implementation of Hashicorp tools besides Terraform, such as Vault

We are hiring for a full-time Global Ecommerce Technology Product Manager to help us expand globally. We are on a mission to be the global destination for all Swimmers and Yogis.
The Product Manager will drive the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of technology product improvements to expand our global sales footprint. This role partners closely with engineers, designers, data science and our marketing team to drive improvements in supporting our customers that result in long-term retention outcomes.
We are looking for a strong generalist with global experience who is equally comfortable discussing technical challenges with engineering, quickly identifying the root of an opportunity from user feedback, and rallying stakeholders around your vision for the product. Most importantly you are passionate about eliminating pain points for our users through product improvements and proactive solutions.
Global Ecommerce Technology Product Manager

What you will do
- Partner closely with the dev team and internal stakeholders across brands to ensure our tech platform is being built and optimized in a way that makes it easy to enter new countries and tailor the experience to meet the nuanced needs and expectations of those customer segments
- Drive and manage the technology product roadmap and run a transparent, outcome-driven lean product development process for new features and enhancements across mobile and web
- Shepard products through development, testing and launch, advocating to achieve the best outcomes
- Utilize data to understand customer needs and behaviors as well as business objectives and transform that knowledge into website + app enhancements and new features across all our international businesses
- Build an intimate knowledge of the customer, business KPIs and technological capabilities to inform product decisions
- Gather customer needs and feedback through frequent research and testing
- Create, maintain and communicate the global ecommerce product strategy and roadmap with key stakeholders
- Perform engagement and retention analysis to inform, measure and iterate on product development
- Synthesize research, analysis, and stakeholder feedback into detailed product requirements for new customer experiences and internal tools
- Collaborate with designers and engineering to create and validate solutions to customer needs
- Manage cross functional teams; identify and establish when to bring the right teams and people together to focus on the right content in a fast paced environment

- Experience working with third parties vendors and managing end-to-end integrations
- Experience working with software components across mobile and web
- Proven track record of identifying customer and business needs and converting them into application and operational requirements
- Global ecommerce experience in retail; swimwear, apparel and/or athleisure industries
- Shopify experience
