We at Parity have been developing Parity Signer for some time.
It started as a simple idea: why not create an app to turn your old smartphone into a free cryptocurrency wallet? We already had all the necessary crypto-primitives for our blockchains implemented in Rust, so all that was needed was a React Native UI to create an app to read and generate QR codes.
A couple of years, ~600 commits and 24 releases later, with over 12 thousands lines of TypeScript/TSX code in the codebase — there are still a couple of big and important security and usability features which are waiting to be thought through and implemented. And after that it would be time to finally bring Parity Signer for an independent security audit — and maybe, just maybe, officially calling it a Release instead of Beta.
This is why we’re looking for a React Native Engineer to work on Parity Signer full time.

Skills & requirements
This is a job for you if you:
- have always enjoyed truly owning your own projects, not just following the breadcrumbs of Jira issues left for you by someone else;
- have experience working on a medium-sized React Native and TypeScript codebases, including UI and testing expertise;
- have always taken security (especially of your codebases) extremely seriously, and would prefer to postpone/cancel a release rather than risking a chance of putting your real-life users in any sort of danger;
- have interest in crypto, both -graphy and -currencies.
Bonus points if you had prior exposure to Rust, bridging React Native and native code on both platforms, or know some advanced tricks when E2E-testing complicated behaviours in mobile apps (people who know how to programmatically simulate a camera feed when testing in an emulator would definitely be put on top of our queue :-) ).

About the role
As komoot’s newest backend engineer, you’ll join a highly-motivated team dedicated to building the world’s best route planner and outdoor mapping app. In close collaboration with other members of an agile cross-functional team, you’ll take full ownership of the backend. Designing, implementing and deploying microservices in AWS.

What you will do
- Work closely with a fellow routing expert and a product manager on world-leading routing for cyclists, hikers, mountain bikers and other outdoor enthusiasts.
- Develop, discuss and pursue road maps for the coming years to establish strong routing quality metrics and enable continuous routing improvements.
- Fine tune our routing for specific countries as we're growing fast internationally
- Leverage data science and machine learning to derive sophisticated routing weights.
- Integrate additional data sources and user data to enrich and extend the routing graph.
- Ensure high availability and performance of our routing APIs in production.

Scalable Path is looking for a Full Stack Node.js and React Developer to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, part-time position (approximately 6 hours/day)
CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
We are a company working on a platform to do usability testing with artificial intelligence, we aim to build a digital tool to change the way companies test their digital products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The client is building a web application that helps people perform usability testing. The marketing site exists, but the app itself needs to be built from scratch so it's a greenfield project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using the Twilio Programmable Chat API https://www.twilio.com/blog/build-a-chat-app-with-twilio-programmable-chat-and-react) to build the real-time testing application
- Working with a machine learning engineer analyze and present data coming from the app.
- Build a backend API in Node.js (We're open to REST and GraphQL and are interested in your opinion)
- If you have the skills, setting up hosting and deployment would be helpful (but we can bring in a DevOps specialist if need be)
- Working closely with the founders who are also designers
The client uses Monday for task management, Slack for chat, Github for source control, and Storybook for React components, and Zeplin for design handoff.
