About the Role
Lead exciting new projects on the Virti learning management system where you will design, make scalable and efficient, using cutting edge web technologies such as WebRTC. Spearheading a new and impactful technology whilst working closely with our backend developer to kick start projects, you will play a key role in expanding the Virti product offering.
What You’ll Do
- Implement new React codebase and designs
- Use WebRTCCollaborate with other members of the engineering team on cross projects
- Have ownership and autonomy of greenfield project
- Implement and follow best practices regarding code implementation, CI and testing processes to ensure robust and production-ready deployment
Who You Are
- Independent, a leader and autonomous in your work
- Experienced in developing and deploying commercial React projects using state management systems such as Redux
- Experienced in backend systems, NodeJS as well as JavaScript and ES6, and strong HTML and CSS skills (including responsive web principles and flexbox)
- As a nice to have, experienced in working with large, complex data structures and database management such as MongoDB, SQL

About the Role
We are looking for a QA Tester to assess software quality through both internal manual and external functional testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting issues with the software including bugs, content defects, and UI/UX problems. In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. If you are also competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will ensure that our products, applications and systems work correctly.
At Virti, we are building the best learning tools globally, using the latest VR/AR/AI technologies. By joining our existing core platform team, you'll own the migration of our existing app over to Flutter and continue to improve it with new features.
This role is ideally based out of Bristol, however, we are also considering remote-based working.
What you’ll do
- Review and analyse system specifications,
- Collaborate with QA Engineers to develop effective strategies and test plans,
- Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results,
- Evaluate product code according to specifications,
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects,
- Report bugs and errors to development teams,
- Help troubleshoot issues,
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing,
- Keep up to date with the latest testing frameworks and services.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Who you are
- Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role,
- Experienced with QA methodology,
- Familiar with testing methodologies, regression testing is a bonus,
- Able to document and troubleshoot errors,
- Excellent communication skills,
- Attention to detail,
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude,
- Strong organisational skills,
Desirable
- Experience with external crowd-testing platforms such as Test IO
- Familiarity with programming languages and frameworks, such as JavaScript/React and C#/Unity

- In partnership with key team members, you will help craft the Virti product roadmap, defining not only a Vision “What” but also be the key element of delivering a practical “When” and “How” through leading and influencing the various functional elements of Virti.
- Partner with commercial teams to ensure the voice of the customer is heard appropriately whilst providing your own original and innovative elements from your deep understanding of the technology born out of a positive relationship with the development team.
- Engage with customers, partners, content creators and other industry collaborators to enable and equip a 360-degree view of the Virti customer and product landscape in order to encourage thinking.

About the Role

You will play an instrumental part, working in the development team to set up and support a wide array of products and customers using our PHP backend built on SilverStripe. You will be responsible for managing the existing platform as well as design and set up new backend data structures and GraphQL APIs.

- Create and implement new data models.
- Plan and implement API endpoints supporting existing and new products.
- Diagnose technical, architectural, and/or organisational problems and propose thorough solutions.
- Test and optimise for performance and security.
- Make technology decisions and contribute to product strategy.
- Collaborate closely with the React and Unity team.
Who You Are
- You are self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organisational skills.
- You have a commercial PHP development experience, preferably using SilverStripe.
- You have experience with building APIs using GraphQL.
- A strong understanding of MySQL and database design.
- Knowledge of Git, testing and Continuous Integration.
- As a nice to have, HTML and CSS skills (including responsive web principles and flexbox).
- You have excellent verbal and written communication, able to support product and project management and planning.
- You have experience owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.

- Work on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
