We are looking for an exceptional Customer Solutions Engineer to join our Customer Delivery team. You will report to one of our AI Customer Delivery managers and serve in a key customer-facing role. You will be engaging with senior stakeholders at our airline customers to ensure successful customer implementations of FLYR’s advanced CirrusTM Revenue Operating System for airlines. What will your destination look like?
- Directly engage with our airline customers’ executives, subject matter experts, and business leads
- Serve as a customer’s primary business requirements point of contact from initial customer onboarding through to production operations.
- Understand airline customers’ revenue management systems, business processes, and data so FLYR can onboard a new airline customer onto our platform
- Lead discovery calls to capture customer’s implementation requirements
- Provide guidance to customers on the implementation, integration, and configuration of FLYR’s revenue management product
- Analyze customer onboarding issues, implementation change requests, and customer data delivery and data quality issues, using your strong domain knowledge of airline revenue management to provide business context to technical issues.
- Maintain open lines of communication with customers so FLYR can deliver our services reliably in the face of ongoing customer business and operational change
- Assist FLYR’s Customer Delivery managers with the day-to-day relationship management with our airline customers. -Provide project management of onboarding and implementation work by capturing and tracking issues in issue tracking systems.
- Coordinate with customer and with FLYR engineering and operations teams on service delivery escalations arising from underlying issues in customer data
- Recognize customer issues and implementation pain points and advocate for their needs to influence FLYR product direction.
- You will work closely with Product and Engineering teams and advocate to improve FLYR’s platform for fast onboarding and successful customer outcomes
What can you bring on this trip?
- 2+ years post-degree experience working directly with clients including driving discussion, presenting findings, and facilitating progress while maintaining strong client relationships
- Past career experience in software services delivery or implementation consulting role highly preferred -Competent in SQL
- You can investigate data quality issues and perform analysis from large datasets in SQL occasionally using complex queries involving multiple JOINs, GROUP BY statements, WINDOW functions, and conditionals
- Experience/exposure to software development methodologies (SCRUM/Agile) and supporting tooling (Git) -Domain knowledge of airline revenue management or related areas of airline commercial operations is ideal, but not required
- Strong organizational and project management skills -You’re comfortable with issue trackers like Jira and Trello, dogmatic about tracking issues to resolution, and regularly use issue trackers to provide status reporting
- Experience with data visualization and operation or executive reporting (Tableau, Looker, etc.) -Fluent and effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills, both written and verbal

What will your destination look like at FLYR?
- -Collaborate with data scientists, data analysts, and engineers to design and define entity models and schemas to represent complex airline business data.
- Understand the data access and data preparation needs of FLYR’s data science team and design data warehousing schemas and systems to allow those goals to be met
- Partner with Product management to support data warehouse evolving to product roadmap & business needs.
- Manage a schema change management process as access patterns and data sources evolve.
- Specify and document constraints and invariants to both understand and communicate the nature of data and enforce data integrity in pipelines and warehouse.
- Translate rich entity models and complex airline data sources into well defined physical table schemas and message payload formats for the warehouse. Assist data engineers and data scientists in best-practices on data access patterns.
- Advise on query performance and assist in optimizing query costs and runtimes.
- Understand storage and query costs for data transformation and ML training jobs, identify inefficiencies, and make both tactical and architectural recommendations to reduce BigQuery spend.
- Communicate & present schema design, data architecture, entity modeling, best practices, and other technical details in an effective manner.
- Educate FLYR data science and engineering teams on the design decisions driving schema design choices.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Support and business stakeholders to identify opportunities / risks and improve process / quality around FLYR Data Warehouse.
What can you bring on this trip?
- Expert technical background in Data Warehousing concepts (e.g. dimensional data modeling) and schema design (e.g. star, snowflake, etc).
- Expert ability to understand a business domain and design effective data schemas to represent business data.
- Strong hands-on experience in designing and managing data warehouses, preferably on a major public Cloud. Knowledge of when and how to apply traditional warehouse concepts to modern Cloud warehouses.
- Expert in SQL. You know your way around analytical and aggregate functions, complex joins, window functions, and are confident in wrangling all types of data in SQL. Expert in rewriting SQL queries for both readability and performance optimization.
- Proficient in Python or other scripting language.
- Preference for past hands-on experience with Google BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform.

What will your destination look like at FLYR?
- Directly supervise from 6 to 10 software engineers, data architects, and analysts. Provide technical mentorship and training, and promote success in their career path at FLYR.
- Lead the development of software frameworks and tools for data management.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Data Scientists, Product Managers and Software Engineers to understand data needs and deliver the tools to meet those needs.
- Develop enhancements to the data warehouse by leading the delivery of schema changes and data quality metrics needed to support new product features.
- Define processes and build tools to support onboarding and ingest of new data sources.
- Support and coordinate with customer implementation team managers in standardization of practices and processes for data source ingest.
- Lead your team in delivering tools for data quality monitoring and validation.
- Coordinate with DevOps on defining infrastructure monitoring requirements and practices for production data pipelines.

- Experience operating software and data services in production. Must have experience leading software development on a SaaS product or service delivery environment.

- Participate in a joint effort to provide support and constant improvements to cloud-based production environments for the cutting edge AI (Artificial Intelligence) platform.
- Be engaged in the development and implementation of various infrastructure management utilities to advance all aspects of SAAS platform support.
- Exercise change control management standards to provide stability of the environment and establish a smooth path of code promotion and environment updates.
- Be engaged in troubleshooting and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) efforts, utilizing logs aggregation (from numerous systems and applications of the environment) and logs analysis with command-line automation scripts and parsing tools.
- Support and maintain all layers of Dev and Staging environments for a feature and integration testing of the code.
- Will be responsible for a team effort to support the GCP cloud infrastructure platform and various services such as Airflow, BigQuery, Kafka
- Support development teams in the delivery of product feature utilizing CI/CD, manage Docker container build processes for Dev, Staging, and Prod environments.
- Be the technical expert on several keys components of the SAAS platform and will be responsible for tasks for performance improvement.
- Take a lead on research and POC (Proof Of Concept) planning and execution for new technologies implementation.
- Be responsible for building documentation collection for features of internal tools and DevOps processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent experience, or related field required.
- 5+ years of experience working as DevOps Engineer with a focus on deployment and support of cloud-native applications services in cloud-based virtualized infrastructure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in container virtualization technologies and container orchestration tools and mechanisms (Kubernetes preferred).
- Expert in virtualization of dynamic microservices-based applications and infrastructure components deployment processes (Docker, Helm, Spinnaker).
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure in Linux-based environments (systems, networking, storage, and services concepts).Fluent in scripting aspects of system administration (Linux command-line tools, bash, python).
- Expert in cloud infrastructure support and troubleshooting of web-servers, load balancers, traffic routing, and shaping. Solid experience with GCP is preferred, AWS and Azure are a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of infrastructure configuration automation and concepts of IAC (Infrastructure As a Code), Terraform is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in software tools development with a strong understanding of CI/CD practices implementation in a cloud-based infrastructure.
- Advanced knowledge of CI/CD in the Kubernetes environment for microservice-based implemented applications, CircleCI is preferred.
- Fluent in python with strong knowledge of the python environment setup and management, with extensive experience in TDD-based automation tools development.
- Expert understanding of git-based SCM (Source Code Management) processes (branching, approvals, and promotions). Github is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of git and git-based structures (branching, approvals, ...).Experience in support and administration of Postgres DB in cloud environments.
- Solid experience and commitment to exercise and enforce security best practices in production and development environments, logging, and monitoring.
- Strong writing and oral communication skills.
