About our Development team

We are a small team but growing rapidly. We started the year with 9 developers in our team and are looking to reach 20 by the end of the year.

We use Agile methodologies, following the Spotify structure. Our team is divided into crossfuntional squads who are fully responsible for a part of our product. Inside the squad we do short meetings to define our goals, share updates and blockers during the week. After each month we have a retrospective to continue to improve our processes.

We take ownership and hold ourselves to high standards. Developers are involved in the whole software development life cycle. You will write code but also E2E tests, migration scripts or monitor production.

We follow best practices. Chapter leads coach squad members inspired by books like: The Pragmatic Programmer, Extreme Programming, A Philosophy of Software Design or The DevOps Handbook.

Our techstack is based on Javascript. We are using React in the frontend and Node.js with MongoDB in the backend, everything is hosted in AWS. Every month we host a retrospective where we welcome new ideas on how we make our work and product even better.

What you’ll be working on as a Senior Software Developer

Depending on your interests and skills, you may do more feature work or more purely technical work, but the boundaries are fluid, and people can switch between teams. Every two weeks, you’ll have a private conversation with your manager where you can discuss these topics and more.

Build new product features. We are currently revamping our project dashboard, allowing users to compare two versions of a file simultaneously and adding the possibility to review live websites.

Track down bugs and fix them fast. Reliability and performance are key to provide the best experience to our customers.

Improve our development process. For example: adding new E2E tests to prevent bugs and reduce manual testing, refactoring concepts to reduce complexity or improving our CI/CD pipeline,

What you’ll be working on as our Information Security Manager

We’re looking for an Information Security Manager to strategically lead and hands-on improve information security, including product and enterprise security.

Here are some of the things you’ll be doing in your first year at Filestage:

• You’ll develop our security strategy by creating a comprehensive security roadmap for our company based on your evaluations and risk assessments.

• You'll make security part of our culture by designing practical policies, setting up internal and external documentation, and rolling out procedures and training for the team.

• You’ll oversee processes and make sure we stay compliant and secure. Run internal audits, collaborate with external auditors, and follow up on weaknesses to turn them into strengths.

You have 4+ years of experience in information security in the SaaS industry. Now you're looking for a new challenge to shape security in a scaling SaaS startup.

There is no clear definition of DevOps, at Filestage we follow the Well-Architected framework. We are building a small but powerful DevOps team. This team empowers other product engineering teams. Providing them with the knowledge, tooling, monitoring, safeguards, and automation necessary to deliver software quickly and confidently.

Key responsibilities

• Operational Excellence: Set up CI/CD pipelines, improve processes and encourage best practices to speed up development.
  
  
• Reliability: Coach engineers on how to write effective automated tests. Make sure we have enough monitoring and alerts to detect problems as fast as possible. Debug and analyze root causes of incoming bugs to prevent them in the future.
  
  
• Performance: Review technical decisions and code to detect bottlenecks and suggest improvements. Measure and monitor the production environment to offer the best experience for our customers.

• Security: Knowledge of common web vulnerabilities, audit our code base for security issues, and improve our processes to increase security.

• Cost optimization: Deep understanding of cloud-based software solutions, Suggest the best tool for each job, and find opportunities to resize resources to save money.
