We are looking for a Platform Engineer specializing in Observability to join our product development team, and play an integral role in the development and operation of our managed Kubernetes offering. You will build and develop observability into the platform, using Prometheus, Cortex, Thanos, and Kubernetes Operators, among others, as well as helping customers use these technologies.

Requirements

• You are an experienced Linux user. Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana are familiar to you.

• You have experience with Go and at least one other programming language, and a strong architectural background.

• You have experience working with Kubernetes, specifically building operators.

• You have worked on the observability of container infrastructures before.

• You are used to deploying to production multiple times a day, and love to automate all the things.

• You are comfortable building and working with distributed systems - you prefer to build your applications as multiple services instead of a single monolith.

Your Job

You will be a key member of a tight-knit team who are responsible for keeping our customer’s managed observability apps operational and healthy. You’ll also have a key role in the development of the offering itself, working together with our Platform Engineers to deliver the greatest service possible.

• Experiment by prototyping new observability solutions and adding their components to our app catalogs.

• Proactive investigation of new open-source tools.

• Implement robust testing of new and existing applications to provide the best possible customer experience.

• Apply SRE best practices to monitor application performance and ensure that SLAs are adhered to.

• Assist in debugging managed customer observability applications when something goes wrong.

• Assist in debugging our own internal observability applications (we dogfood as much as possible).

• Participate in the on-call support schedule.

• You are a go-to person in case our developers need advice regarding monitoring infrastructure.

Requirements

• You are fluent in Cloud Native observability tooling. This includes projects such as Prometheus, Prometheus Operator, Thanos/Cortex, Grafana, Loki etc.

• You must have deep, hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes.

• You’re comfortable debugging complex infrastructure and understanding how it interacts.

• You’re happy troubleshooting a wide variety of issues and you’re not afraid to parse thousands of lines of logs in pursuit of an answer.

• You have good coding skills (preferably Go, but Python or similar is fine as well)

• You have experience with maintaining infrastructure with code and you know the pros and cons of various automation tools.

• You automate all things by writing code. Using Bash scripts makes you sad :)

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer

to play a leading role in the development of our front end (written in React) and our other front end interfaces written in Go. • You’re the face of Giant Swarm and lead the initial outreach to targeted enterprise accounts across Central Europe.
• You will generate new qualified opportunities through a mixture of calling, emailing, and social media outreach to schedule meetings with Account Executives and Founders
• As you love tech as much as we do, you know how to speak the language of our target audience and you can engage with them on a personal as well as technical level with the aim of actively engaging them in our own community and events.
• You’re thrilled to dive deep and really understand our product and service. You’ll effectively communicate Giant Swarm’s offering and apply it to each prospect's needs, by speaking their language.
• You will input, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information in our CRM (Hubspot).
• We’ve only recently started building out our outbound activities and you’ll be our first SDR so you can actively shape this role.
• You’ll be part of our sales and marketing team of seven people, working hand in hand with Franz (our Account Director) and Henning (our CEO). You’ll also connect regularly with our tech-experts to better understand and be the first to know about new features we’ll be offering to our customers.
• You’ll be able to go beyond the scope of your work and join related working groups, depending on your personal preferences.

REQUIREMENTS

• You need to be a self-confident tech-enthusiast, who learns quickly and is happy to engage right from the start.

• You have 3+ years of outbound sales experience, and having worked within a B2B tech company is a must.
• This is a 100% outbound focused position, so you love engaging people in conversations, you enjoy picking up the phone and calling people you’ve never talked to before. You also enjoy representing Giant Swarm at events (should they happen again in the future ;) )
• ‘Getting things done’ is an important part of your job. Following and creating good and structured workflows to manage our growth is equally important.
• Self-organization is key for this role as you will be working independently from home (or a co-working space), while of course there is a team to always have your back.
• You’re fluent in German and English both orally and in writing. Many of our customers are German but our company language is English so you’ll need both languages on a daily basis.
