Your day-to-day activities
  • Develop automated tests (Selenium, PHPUnit, Behat, Creep).
  • Design test plans.
  • Do integral testing (features, bug fixes, and refactors).
  • Receive bug reports from customer-facing teams, analyze them, find steps to reproduce them, and route them to development.
  • Provide feedback on requirement specs.
  • Get acquainted with your team's tools, frameworks, and programming languages.
  • Promote and apply QA policies and best practices.
  • Detect needs related to testing and automation, and propose solutions.
About you
  • Curious and analytical.
  • Experience in testing (both functional and non-functional).
  • Programming skills or automation testing experience.
  • Good understanding of written English.
  • Able to work in Linux environments.
  • Hands-on experience in test automation tools and frameworks.sp

  • Achieve a rounded knowledge of our platform by understanding the complex interaction of a wide range of areas and services, from network layer to final user.

  • Build a highly flexible platform which allows users to customize it through tailored configurations and UI options.

Your day-to-day activities:

  • Work with the Product Team on functional specifications of features (specs): interpret and analyze, but also give feedback for them.
  • Design and write the code for the feature.
  • Perform technical analysis of existing code and perform refactors to improve code quality.
  • Perform code review.
  • Promote and apply best practices during the entire development process, from the very early stages of technical analysis and design of solutions, to the monitoring in production.

About you:

  • Work experience in software development
  • Analytical/troubleshooting skills
  • Strong background in OOP, SOLID principles, DDD, and Unit testing
  • Fluency in one or more of these: PHP, JavaScript, Java, C++, Python

From creating the toolchain and coding automations used by our developers and cloud engineers, to designing and managing the environments used by our applications, DevOps plays a fundamental role in building and maintaining Avature.

As Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be heavily involved in those tasks, while ensuring clear communication between our infrastructure and delivery teams, enabling collaboration across multiple engineering teams.

Your challenges and objectives:

  • Provide the environments where Avature's applications run.
  • Design the deployment and configuration of those applications.
  • Ensure fluent communication between the development and IT areas.
  • Envision integrations between different internal systems.
  • Program complex operations to scale in distributed datacenters around the world.

Your day-to-day activities:

  • Develop system tools to automate environment creation and deployments.
  • Interact with different virtualization platforms: AWS, KVM, LXD, Docker.
  • Build continuous testing by automation and virtualization.
  • Design and develop highly distributed systems.
  • Perform code reviews, technical analysis of existing code, and refactors to improve code quality.
  • Design our configuration management system, deployment platform and its associated processes.
  • Design and maintain our CI/CD pipelines.
  • Promote best practices in deployments and infrastructure management among various teams.

About you:

  • Software development skills and methodologies.
  • Superior analytical/troubleshooting skills.
  • Solid understanding of operating system concepts.
  • Fluency in any structured programming language (preferably Python).
  • Knowledge (or willingness to learn) infrastructure management technologies (Puppet, Packer, Terraform, LXD, AWS, KVM, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience in product as a service operation is a plus.
  • Open source experience or contribution to any Linux/Unix distribution is a plus.
