We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building business-critical products and features that can process 7 million transactions per second at a latency of <200 milliseconds.
You will be working on our real-time ad buying platform for our Connected TV (CTV) solution. This team is critical to the success of our business and you will be focused on designing, architecting, and building new critical features that are low-latency, scalable, and fault-tolerant (the team hasn’t had an outage since 2008!).
As a Senior Software Engineer, you can expect 50% of your role to be focused on architecture and design and 50% focused on hands-on coding as well as mentoring and leading junior members of the team. Responsibilities

- Showing how architecture meets expected future needs.
- Assessing the difficulty or ease of implementing proposed architecture, with ease of maintenance in mind.
- Assessing the performance characteristics of the proposed architecture.
- Assessing security implications of the proposed architecture.
- Enforcing technical design reviews, with a focus on hard technical artifacts such as ER diagrams, time-sequence diagrams, truth tables, pseudocode, etc.
- Ensuring implementations are testable and tested in an automated manner.

Required Sills & Experience:

The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the development and delivery of applications as well as leading and mentoring junior members of the team. The Senior Software Engineer will: (i) understand the Software Development Life Cycle model and its activities and be able to deliver solid, robust applications, (ii) understand coding and source code development standards, (iii) develop clean, understandable, and maintainable code from user requirements and flow charts, (iv) develop and implement plans to accurately test the application code, functions, modules, and programs, (v) maintain detailed and accurate documentation per all project standards, and (vi) set standards for developing high-quality software in an efficient and effective manner. You will be a member of the Amobee technology team that owns the identity management and digital audience activation systems. Our offline systems consume and activate petabytes of data every day in a geographically distributed, highly performant, and fault-tolerant manner. Responsibilities
- Integrate and build services and components to produce highly-available, fault-tolerant, and low-latency near real-time ETL systems and APIs.
- Develop data streams for analyzing and activating data for use by Amobee’s runtime ad serving systems
- Design systems for use by the technology team and for business users
- Participate and collaborate in the creation and evolution of global scale infrastructure as needed.
- Meet with product managers to provide guidance, plan, documentation, create estimates, and designs for teams and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math or Engineering, or comparable work-related experience
- 2+ years of work experience with Java
- 2+ years of experience building RESTful APIs
- Understanding and experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MYSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle)
- Experience with big data processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark)
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Masters) in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering
- 2+ years of Unix/Linux background including shell-scripting
- Familiarity with NoSQL concepts and platforms (RocksDB, CouchBase, Redis)
- Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing (Maven, Jenkins)
- Understanding and comfort with enterprise frameworks for dependency injection, object-relational mapping, and logging (Spring Framework, Hibernate, SLF4J)

We are hiring Sr. DevOps Engineers! As a member of the DevOps Services team, you will be embedded into one or more of our software engineering teams to provide operational service. You will be responsible for delivering service to your assigned team and agnostic solutions to the entire Amobee Engineering organization. You will operate infrastructure and ensure all services are monitored, healthy, automated, and scalable. Tasks will range from bringing new infrastructure online to building and improving application pipelines to troubleshooting issues from the system level up to the application itself. You will strive to bridge the gap between operations and development to push the entire organization forwards and to build shared visions across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve on the DevOps Services Engineering team; responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of the Amobee production environment
- Contribute to the implementation and design of systems and networks used to operate production infrastructure with a focus on automation
- Design, implement and manage continuous pipeline services for the Engineering organization.
- Take a consulting approach to bring operations expertise to the application design and development process
- Develop tools to monitor infrastructure and custom applications
- Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack
- Document system design and application operation procedures
- Build, monitor and tune production systems
- Take part in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation with the support of a full-time NOC
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience working in large-scale production environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with Linux
- Advanced understanding of Linux, Networking, and Internet principles
- Programming skills in one or more scripting languages
- Experience in monitoring infrastructure and applications using tools like Nagios, Prometheus & InfluxDB
- Experience with automation tools such as Chef, Terraform or Ansible
- Experience with both cloud and physical infrastructure (AWS a plus)
- Experience with container management solutions such as Kubernetes
- Experience managing & tuning java services in a production environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Experience implementing technologies with a focus on operability, reliability, and scalability
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent technical experience)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with message queues (Kafka a plus)
- Experience with high volume transactional fleets processing billions of requests per day.
- Experience with support services such as Consul, Zookeeper & ELK
- Experience with noSQL solutions (Couchbase a plus)
- Experience with big data systems (EMR, Spark & Hive a plus)
- Experience running, performance testing & tuning Java applications (Spring Cloud a plus)
- Experience with object oriented languages (Java a plus)
