Penn Interactive is hiring full time software engineers for a key role in architecting, implementing and maintaining our online real money gambling games.
Responsibilities
- Write production ready Go code for our REST and Socket servers.
- Use PostgreSQL, and Redis search data stores.
- Work closely with client engineers and designers to implement endpoints.
- Manage tasks and communicate with producers and teammates.
- Read and implement probability models from mathematicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or five years of software engineering experience
- Experience with our technical stack: PostgreSQL, Redis, Python, Linux, Git
- Strong understanding of scalable server architectures
- Strong understanding of threads, microservices, and distributed locking
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to solve technical problems with practical constraints
- Experience in Go, Java, C++, or C# required

The Frontend Engineer will work on a small, cross-functional team to develop a one-of-a-kind, native sports betting experience. This role will work with UI/UX and product to implement a revolutionary sportsbook from the ground up. Previous work in the gaming industry is not important but we do expect your work-product to reflect a strong technical background and a dedication to concise, reusable code.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, high-impact, consumer-facing web apps.
- Translate robust business requirements into thoughtfully architected, reusable code.
- Squash bugs to make sure our user experience is unrivaled.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, project managers, ops engineers, QA engineers and various other teams and stakeholders to solve novel problems.
- Communicate clearly and effectively using Github, Slack, Google Docs, ZenHub, and email.
- Interact thoughtfully and professionally with everyone including non-technical colleagues.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience building websites and web apps.
- Developing component-based websites, using React, Vue.js, AngularJS, or a similar JS library or framework.
- Using CSS preprocessors Less or Sass.
- 2-5 years designing responsive websites.
- Utilizing build tools (Webpack, babel, eslint, npm, yarn, etc).
- Writing unit and integration tests with Jasmine, Jest, Mocha or similar tools.
- Familiar and comfortable with writing es6 Javascript syntax
- Using Git or similar version control tools.
- Reviewing product specs and identifying scope.
- Be a self-motivated worker who can break complex tasks into achievable pieces.

The Android Engineer works in conjunction with the Android Technical Lead in a small, cross-functional team to develop a one-of-a-kind, native sports betting experience. Candidates for this role will work with one of the most successful UI/UX firms in the country to implement a revolutionary sportsbook from the ground up. Previous work in the gaming industry is not important but we do expect your work-product will reflect a strong technical background and a dedication to concise, scalable code.

The Software Development Engineer in Test works in conjunction with the QA Tech Lead on a relatively small, cross-functional team to assist in coordinating testing for a one-of-a-kind, native sports betting experience. Candidates for this role will assist our engineering team in building and testing a revolutionary sportsbook from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Define approach to testing complex systems
- Design, plan, execute, monitor, and improve testing process
- Meet deadlines and work independently
- Monitor crash reports, alert teams to critical bugs, and open tickets with the appropriate teams
- Serve as the gatekeeper for mobile and web deployment; coordinate a go/no-go sign-off
- Oversee and ensure the quality of test plans, test cases, test matrix, and bug reporting
- Script and develop testing scenarios in a broad range of programming languages
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working in a tech-focused QA environment
- Familiarity with some common testing frameworks like Selenium for web or Appium and XCUITest for mobile.
- Strong Java coding experience
- Present options and recommendations to facilitate testing and performance
- Design and maintain test automation frameworks
- Design and architect modular and reusable automated testing solutions

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our SRE team, to work cross-functionally across engineering, focusing on the and be at the front lines, building pipelines, tackling production issues and utilizing the latest and greatest cloud technologies. We’re looking for excited individuals who want to be immersed in AWS and Automation, and believe in our focus on Availability, Reliability and Durability.
Responsibilities
- Support our AWS infrastructure for the engineering team, ensuring system availability, performance, capacity, and continuity.
- Improve automation processes, using our infrastructure-as-cloud tooling, Terraform
- Support the team with responding to incident response tickets, designing new infrastructure architecture and providing technical support as needed
- Design methods and modeling for AWS applications along with compute, network and storage development, support and creation of Terraform scripts to automate deployment
- Build and develop a common infrastructure platform upon which many applications can run with a strong focus on monitoring/alerting/resiliency
Qualifications
- 2+ years working heavily within an AWS cloud environment (ECS, Lambda, HA Architecture)
- 2+ years of experience building infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
- 2+ years of high-level programming experience in Python or Go
- Strong Docker production experience (Docker Swarm, ECS, Kubernetes, etc)
- Experience with Blue/Green and multi-region AWS deployments
