Senior Backend Engineer (Go)

How we work:

• As core engineering - in collaboration with web, apps, and product teams - we work with a modern software development methodology (based on Basecamp's Shape Up)
• We are nice people; we write documentation, perform code reviews and write tests
• We develop our backend in Go and run it on AWS
• We use Elasticsearch and store data in PostgreSQL
• We ship production-level code every day to more than 300k daily active users
• We celebrate ownership and responsibility; we are responsible not only for the software design and implementation but also for the deployment and monitoring of our services

What we need from you:

• A positive attitude and passion for your job
• A solid software engineering background
• Familiarity with AWS and the various services it offers
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL and plenty of real-world experience using relational databases at a reasonable scale
• Experience in backend development for web and app-based products
• Well-versed in Golang or a background that allows you to adapt to it quickly

Working in tutti you will be:

• Running one of the biggest Swiss marketplaces with over 300,000 Monthly Active Users on Android
• Keeping a 99% crash-free rate while shipping big features like Messaging

Your responsibility:

• A positive attitude and passion for your job Write pragmatic, performant, and testable code

Your profile:

• 5 years of experience developing mobile applications on Android. Experience with Kotlin is a must
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous frameworks like Kotlin Coroutines and RxJava
• Strong knowledge of dependency injection frameworks like Koin, Dagger 2, or Hilt
• Knowledge of clean architecture and MVVM pattern
• People over processes mentality. You are pragmatic and empathic, you seek understanding before being understood
• Great communicator, in your day-to-day work you will be working closely with a variety of teams including product management, design, and engineering
• Ability to think in tradeoffs
• Experience with iOS or a cross-platform solution like Flutter or React Native is a plus
