As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will own the design, implementation, and delivery of database optimization, application infrastructure, and performance monitoring at Postscript. Our application stack is Python (Flask) with a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS on the backend, and our frontend is built with React JS. You will work closely with our fullstack engineering team and engineering leaders to optimize our database, implement and own application performance monitoring, and scale our application infrastructure.

Primary duties
- Optimize and scale our Postgres database
- Design and build best-in-class infrastructure by utilizing AWS tools
- Own deployment pipelines & streamline development
- Build and maintain application logging infrastructure
- Implement best practices for application monitoring and create recommendations for application teams to improve their applications
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building and managing application infrastructure on AWS services
- 3+ years of experience managing relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- 2+ years application development experience with Python (Flask and SQLAlchemy)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with Capacity Planning and scaling high volume applications
- Experience with application monitoring and performance tuning

As a Frontend Engineer at Postscript, you will utilize your strong product engineering skills to develop and manage various products leveraging our frontend codebase. Our frontend stack is a modern React app that leverages Styled components, Storybook, and Cypress integration tests. Your passion for building great products, especially in early-stage companies, will lead you to have a meaningful and positive impact on both the product and the company. In addition, you will have the opportunity to help expand the engineering team and build out architecture and processes as we scale. Primary Duties
- Develop interfaces from designs and functional specifications of varying definition
- Add features to existing functionality and maintain legacy code with bug fixes
- Be a trustworthy contributor to our frontend codebase and internal engineering processes
- Advance our internal frontend codebase by improving upon existing patterns
- Work closely with other engineers and the design and product teams to deliver a beautiful, world-class product
- Take ownership and get creative with your solutions
- Proactively and clearly communicate with the engineering team and other team members to resolve questions and solve problems
Requirements
- A proven career as a frontend product engineer; hands on experience building great products. SaaS experience preferred
- Familiarity with component design and state management in a modern React app
- Strong Frontend testing experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, translating complex technical requirements into easy to follow direction and documentation
- Experience building great products (high growth, early stage tech preferred)

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Postscript, you will utilize your strong product engineering skills to develop and manage our backend applications and systems. Our backend stack is a Python (Flask) API with a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS. Senior Backend Engineers at Postscript are key members of the team that directly impact the team as an individual contributor and also through critical leadership, mentorship, and decision-making activities. Primary Duties
- Architect, build and maintain REST APIs to build features in our product suite
- Work closely with other engineers and the design and product teams to deliver a beautiful, world-class product

- Improve our internal development processes to minimize errors and improve team efficiency

Requirements

As Engineering Manager at Postscript, you will lead highly skilled engineers across our cross-functional engineering teams. Engineering Managers at Postscript lead complex initiatives and act as the technical subject matter expert in all areas of software architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support. You will ensure that the applications your team owns scale with our business and follow technical best practices. Primary duties
- Lead a team of engineers at Postscript to build great products in line with our product roadmap. Directly manage engineering team members and ensure that your entire team is continually enabled to do their best work
- Recruit and hire engineers on your team and on other teams., Raise and advocate new positions on your team, and directly participate in the screening and evaluation of candidates
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, designers, and others to plan and execute work
- Carry out performance management duties for your direct reports via just in time feedback, 1:1s, annual reviews, and continuous improvement opportunities
- Consistently provide ongoing technical mentorship and general professional development for your direct reports and other engineers at Postscript
- Establish and continually improve development and team processes that yield maximum efficiency in day-to-day engineering operations
- Partner with Lead Engineers and technical experts in the organization to develop technical roadmaps and complete technical initiatives to enable engineering efficiency, handle the growth of our platform’s scale, and improve velocity

You will build tooling and establish processes to foster Support Engineering at Postscript. Requirements List
- 2+ years of experience in a support role interacting with customers or customer-facing teams such as support or sales
- Experience coordinating and managing ticket workflows through the entire support lifecycle
- Experience participating in an on-call rotation and resolving issues, coordinating incident response communication, and solving problems
- Ability to communicate complex technical topics to individuals with varying levels of technical skill
- Proficient in Python and Flask
- Proficient in SQL (Postgres)
