What You'll Do
- Collaborate with design and product to build functional and delightful product experiences
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
- Invest in making our UI platform scalable and our teams productive
Requirements
- Familiarity of core JavaScript, React, Redux, and HTML5 / CSS3
- Deep knowledge of front-end build tools for validation, transpilation, and bundling (ESLlint, webpack, Babel, etc.)
- Experience building and deploying a single-page application for public use
- Experience developing and maintaining SaaS products
- Proficiency writing unit and integration tests
- 5+ years of professional frontend development
Bonus Points
- Strong understanding of UX and Design fundamentals
- Experience with d3.js
- Expertise in tuning web performance
- Knowledge of web serving architecture (e.g. CDNs, caching, load balancers)

- ...design and build horizontally scalable microservices to ingest, analyze, and understand documents
- ...design an information retrieval architecture combining document, graph, and entity search
- ...develop APIs that showcase our technology stack and enable third-party integrations
- ...contribute to the back-end and front-end of immersive user experiences that render complex data in a comprehensible way
- ...Evaluate, adopt, and contribute back to open-source software to build out the Primer technology stack
Experiences we like
- Expertise in Python, GoLang, or Java (Python preferred)
- Experience leading commercial software technical projects end-to-end in an agile environment on any major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc)
- Experience with data ingestion and processing systems at scale - online, streaming, or batch
- 4+ years of shipping commercial software (SaaS, or PaaS) to third parties outside your company (At least two major release cycles, including learnings from bugs you and the team have had to fix).
Bonus Points
- Data-driven engineering; using metrics to drive decisions and inform performance/cost tradeoffs
- Hands-on DevOps experience with cloud infrastructure
- Experience with ElasticSearch, Redis, Postgres, and Graph DBs

We like:
- Curiosity and enthusiasm, and a love for teaching and learning
- Strong programming skills, including in Python, with at least 3 years experience in a production engineering team
- Masters/Ph.D. in a quantitative field or at least 5 years building analytical/data driven products in an industry setting
- Skills in data exploration, visualization, and cleaning
- Experience applying machine learning algorithms to real data sets, preferably including text analysis and NLP
- Experience in using one or more of the following: NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-Learn, NLTK, SpaCy, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch
- Experience taking ambiguous problem statements through to delivered products
- Experience interacting with end users/clients or strong interest in doing so
