You have direct experience developing and supporting enterprise software, specifically web applications and high performance data processing systems. What You'll Do

  • You'll be responsible for growing and developing a team of talented engineers, with growing expectations around individual ownership and impact. You’ll support your team through 1:1’s, scheduled team stand-ups and clear, measurable goals at the team and individual level.
  • You'll work closely with your team, product management, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products and services to our external and internal customers.
  • You’ll work closely with Engineering leadership to develop, measure, and achieve department-level objectives and key results.
  • You’ll track and measure your team’s performance - you’ll hold your team accountable to requirements, schedules, and commitments made.
  • You’ll shepherd department level initiatives, such as technology evaluations, cost studies, and development/reporting of system-level performance measures and metrics.
  • You’ll be an active participant in high-level architecture and design reviews, as well as individual code reviews.

You're comfortable diving into a large Rail application that serves 200+ customers. We are searching for a Rails engineer to join us in building the Red Canary platform. We continuously push product enhancements to production so on day one you will be making security better for a large number of organizations. Our customers depend on us 24/7 and the software you build makes a meaningful difference to improve their security. In this role you may work from our Denver office or remote.

Who You Are

  • Love to write code and take full ownership of a product or feature from concept to launch
  • Are experienced with Ruby on Rails and other common libraries such as RSpec and Sidekiq
  • Have experience with Javascript, HAML, Redis, Postgres, AWS, Docker or some combination of similar tech
  • Architect scalable applications that serves both internal and external users and high-volume background tasks
  • Have confidence making architectural design decisions that improve scalability & performance

Why You Matter

We're looking for an experienced Rust engineer with Linux development experience to join the Red Canary engineering team. You will build highly reliable software that collects high volume security telemetry from Linux servers, generating rich security telemetry that we use to identify and stop threats affecting our customers.

We use Rust as the principal language for developing our security telemetry collection software because it provides a safe and modern toolchain for producing high-quality software. Rust allows Red Canary to develop new features and iterate quickly on our code base to provide customers with high-quality security telemetry, reliability, and performance in their Linux environments.

As a Senior engineer on our endpoint telemetry collection team, you will design and implement features to support telemetry collection and new detection capabilities. You'll have the opportunity to interface directly with customers, helping them troubleshoot issues and working on designing features that meet their needs. In this role, you may work from our Denver office or remote.

Who You Are

  • Energized when given ownership of complex problems 
  • Passionate about prototyping with new technology and quickly determining if it is a fit for the problem
  • A critical thinker, able to break problems down quickly and prioritize critical action paths
  • Comfortable moving fluidly between system level architecture and code level implementation
  • An experienced debugger and troubleshooter of complex systems and data pipelines
  • Comfortable determining the right level of testing needed for various components
  • Experience with low-level systems programming, preferably Rust and for real-world applications
