ABOUT THE POSITION

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Test web application releases on a day-to-day and project-by-project basis
- Manual and automated testing
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans for each project release
- Develop/implement automated test strategy, including record and playback and scripts
- Attend meetings and deliver updates on testing progress
- Assist stakeholders in keeping application specifications accurate and up to date
- Work with Developers to improve automated testing where possible
- Work with project sponsors and product owners to improve daily testing regimens to ensure the websites are functioning at an optimal level
- Analyze documented defects to identify root cause and impact on related functions or product features
- Identify and mitigate risks / issues related to testing
- Suggest improvements, best practices, and new approaches to testing workflow (your voice will be heard)
REQUIREMENTS
Self-management and time management are critical in this role. Without it, you will not be successful. Other requirements include:
- 5+ years of testing experience including test planning and test execution
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience with automated testing applications such as Robot Framework, Selenium, Cucumber, TestComplete/Cross Browser Testing, UFT/SRF
- Demonstrated experience testing large web applications
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Knowledge of how and where web applications fail - knowing how to break things!
- Excellent communication skills - must be able to explain technical issues to a non-technical person and in a pleasant manner (we are always on Slack with stakeholders)
- Highly attentive to detail - able to cross all the t's and dot all the i's at all times. Your success will depend on it
- Experience with MySQL
- Experience with Python preferred
- Previous experience in an Agile development environment, or other continuous delivery methodology is a plus
- There is direct oversight, but you are expected to take ownership of your work, to establish deadlines, and to communicate progress proactively
- Must be reliable and trustworthy
- Experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence, or similar
- A home office, free of distractions, with a high-speed Internet connection
- Eager to research and learn in a self-directed way (always improving)
We prefer a great/interested/excited tester with less experience to an unmotivated or unengaged tester with tons of experience.

Our meetings are filled with sarcasm, laughter, and movie quotes. We share code on github whenever able and we try to contribute back to the open-source community, on whose shoulders we stand. Though we are virtual, we communicate a lot and have a tight-knit group. Paired programming isn’t required, but it’s encouraged along with lots of collaboration. We have worked with the CakeDC core group and keep up to date via continuing education, conferences, etc.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and engaged PHP DEVELOPER who is motivated, creative, and fun to support and extend our existing codebase, and to develop new custom Laravel web applications.

- Suggest improvements, security needs, best practices, etc (your voice will be heard)
REQUIREMENTS

ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking an experienced and engaged Intermediate Front End Developer who is motivated, creative, and fun to support our existing codebase and assist in developing the next phase of our custom web applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute your development skills and experience to create top-notch front end code for both new and existing applications
- Work closely with the Lead Front End Developer / Manager, Product Management, Project Management, Design and Back End Developers to modify and improve existing code and develop new features and applications
- Participate in and contribute to stand-ups and planning meetings
- Help plot our future for the front end through advocating for standards, technologies, tooling and more
- Demonstrate an ongoing desire to learn and grow
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5 years experience with core front end technologies (HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript)
- Experience with at least one modern front end framework (Vue strongly preferred), as well as the use of GraphQL to interact with APIs
- Knowledge of and experience with some of the many front end tools and libraries such as Nuxt, Node/npm, Sass/Less, ES6/ES.Next, webpack/Gulp, Storybook, linting, testing, etc.
- Experience working with the AWS development ecosystem, including S3, CloudFront, EC2, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and CodePipeline is preferred
- A communication pro - must be able to explain technical issues to a non-technical person, pleasantly
- Experience creating responsive, accessible web components and interface elements from wireframes or mocks
- An understanding of website performance and related best practices
- Adept at cross-browser testing and troubleshooting
- Strong research skills, you regularly visit MDN, GitHub, API docs, and StackOverflow to learn and find answers
- Comfortable on the command line and using git
- Detail-oriented, your code is semantic and well-formatted
- Open-minded to new ideas and development approaches as the industry evolves
