WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Lead projects from proposal through postmortem, assessing vague problems, proposing high-impact solutions, and executing them against a set of success criteria.
· Resolve security issues, large and small, that impact our organization.

· Support engineering teams on security initiatives, advising on best practices around systems design, hardening, encryption, data protection, and authentication.

· Design security systems that uphold the strict privacy guarantees of DuckDuckGo.
· Mentor peers through remote collaboration opportunities, including product brainstorms, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
· Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts, including light on-call rotations.
· Write pragmatic, testable code to automate common security tasks.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
· 7+ years of experience working on security systems in an engineering capacity (implementing or maintaining security systems such as SIEM, HIDS, EVM, SAST/DAST, etc.).
· Deep technical understanding of blue team tactics, threat detection and response, and other security disciplines, including a familiarity with red team tactics.
· Proficiency in programming or scripting.
· Strong understanding of Linux system administration.
· Experience collaborating with a cross-functional team.
· Strong communication skills: You clearly articulate recommendations and decisions in verbal and written form.
· Ability to provide feedback to an array of stakeholders, internal and external.

- Experience leading features from inception through launch, including 2+ years of work on at least one product with a large, diverse user base (i.e., >500k weekly active users).
- Proven strategic leadership skills including goal-setting, roadmapping, and project resourcing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leveraging experiments and data to inform product decisions.
- Experience collecting and learning from user feedback.
- Excellent product intuition and taste.
- Aptitude for translating complex technical topics (e.g., privacy on the Internet) into simple product solutions.

Join our team as a Senior C# Developer to help shape the technology that powers DuckDuckGo's products.
As part of our growing team, you will collaborate with team members at all levels to identify and close major gaps in our products. Examples of projects you might work on include: development of consumer privacy applications on Windows, including building new features, driving improvements, and owning product maintenance.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead projects from proposal through postmortem, assessing vague problems, proposing high impact solutions, and executing them against a set of success criteria.
- Help develop consumer privacy applications on Windows
- Be an expert at the company in C# and the Windows application development ecosystem.
- Step up to resolve product issues, large and small.
- Own major application features and take responsibility for their maintenance and improvement over time.
- Collaborate with peers remotely during product brainstorms, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
- Write pragmatic, performant, and testable code that works consistently across devices.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Advanced level of .NET core expertise.
Advanced level of WPF expertise - Experience working on at least one complex, consumer-facing product
- Experience participating in technical architecture decisions for complex products.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns such as MVVM, MVP, etc.
- Comfortable learning new languages and ideas.
- Experience collaborating with product/design to build polished consumer facing products.
- Exceptional project management skills.
