About the Department:
Product: The Product team is responsible for building and maintaining our three core products: a back-end order routing and logistics platform, a white labeled patient-facing ordering platform, and a telehealth module to connect patients to live providers throughout the testing process. The Product team designs and executes solutions that balance current user needs with the future strategic goals of the business to anticipate and shape the market of consumer-friendly testing.
General Position Summary:
PWN is seeking a QA automation engineer to drive the roadmap and delivery of a clinical platform enabling patients to understand and take initiative with their health. There is a massive opportunity to make lab testing more consumer-friendly. This position is also a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll out outstanding products
Specific Job Functions:
- Take ownership of end-to-end product testing and ensure high quality releases.
- Own and test multiple high priority projects simultaneously
- Create and maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure complete test coverage
- Create, maintain and automate the Regression Suite
- Support various QA activities, such as, development of test approach, test cases, and manual test execution as needed.
- Continually find ways to make our testing process more efficient so we can deliver high-quality features to partners more quickly.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the product you test. Partner with the product and dev teams to learn about customers' real experiences and find opportunities to solve their problems.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 5-6 years of manual QA experience.
- 5-6 years of hands on automation experience (JavaScript/Cypress or Selenium)
- 3-4 years of experience with API Testing and Postman.
- HL7 and MirthConnect experience highly desired.
- Healthcare experience a plus.
- Able to tackle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfort with ambiguity and can operate effectively under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Positive, high-energy with a can-do attitude.

The Technology team works closely with Product Management and Design teams to architect and deliver high quality solutions that meet user needs and strategic goals of the business.
General Position Summary:
The Solutions Architect will be responsible for defining, solutioning, and leading the architecture of PWN’s product platforms. You will provide direction and guidance to strategic application, data, and technology architecture to effectively support the company's business and product strategy. We are looking for an architect with a strong technical background (preferably Ruby on Rails, SQL, AWS), highly skilled at translating business and product requirements into well designed, secure, performant, and scalable solutions for the engineering delivery teams, with strong collaboration communication skills to articulate architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Specific Job Functions:
The Solutions Architect should be able to successfully manage multiple responsibilities and act as a leader, both internally and externally. She/he will be responsible for the overall technical architecture of PWN’s product platforms, architecture roadmap, defining solutions to meet customer/business needs, and guiding the engineering team on the solution architecture.
The Responsibilities of This Position Include:
- Understand business and product requirements and roadmaps and produce industry-leading design, architecture, and solutions
- Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams and provide architecture feedback to help shape product strategy and execution roadmap
- Develop and lead conceptual, logical, and solution architectures across application, data, and technology domains
- Communicate architecture strategy, decisions, trade-offs to stakeholders
- Identify improvements for security, performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and operational cost of our products through use of new technologies, frameworks, tools, and best practices
- Serve as a mentor to engineers on architecture patterns and best practices
Desired Skills and Experience:
Background
- 3+ years experience as software or solutions architect
- 10+ years overall experience in the software development field
- College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Professional Skills
- Experience in cloud-based environment (AWS/Azure) using modern technologies and frameworks
- Experience in SQL and data architecture
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with Healthcare systems and data is plus

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining and supporting PWN’s products and platforms. We are looking for a problem solver with a strong technical background (Ruby on Rails, SQL, AWS), skilled in agile development with solid understanding of the full software development life-cycle and DevOps, who will work in highly productive and collaborative scrum teams and partner with product and business stakeholders to deliver and operate secure, high-performance, and scalable software solutions.
Specific Job Functions:
The Senior Software Engineer should be able to successfully manage multiple responsibilities and be a high impact individual contributor within the Technology team. She/he will be responsible for the development and support of applications across PWN’s product portfolio.
The Responsibilities of This Position Include:
- Design and maintain complex and scalable applications using Ruby on Rails, Vue.js, and SQL.
- Improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance of software.
- Promote agile development by engaging in sprint planning, retrospective, and daily standups.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, architects, and QA to build high quality, functional and impactful products.
- Participate in the full lifecycle of the software development lifecycle from ideation to delivery and production support.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor other engineers in areas such as coding best practices, unit testing, continuous integration, and SDLC.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Background
- 5+ years professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years Ruby/Rails hands-on development experience
- College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Professional Skills
- Experience with API development and Service-oriented architecture
- Experience with Javascript frameworks (Angular/React/Vue.js)
- Experience in cloud-based environment (AWS/Azure)
- Experience with DevOps and supporting large scale production systems
- Experience with Healthcare systems and data is plus
