This position offers the opportunity to apply data science to cybersecurity related challenges, incl. Position Details
Responsibilities:
- Analyze computer architecture for novel binary pattern identification and analysis, working knowledge of compilers and assembly required
- Utilize data science and machine learning techniques to design and develop effective solutions for the abovementioned (and other) cybersecurity challenges.
- Design, develop and implement new AI and Machine Learning capabilities for company's systems
- Integrate AI and ML capabilities into company's software ecosystem
- Specify and implement data pipelines utilizing open source technologies such as Apache Spark, Mahout, Kafka, IBM CodeFlare, etc.
- Work with engineering teams to build scalable solutions
- Scientific/technical research into data science and machine learning related innovations, publications, tools etc., and select the best possible approaches/tools for each objective
- Produce scientific/technical reports documenting your findings for the customer (monthly)
- Contribute to customer presentations, presenting the data science and machine learning parts of solutions
- Continuously update and maintain systems

Qualifications (Must):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or Statistics (PhD preferred)
- Senior level data scientist with over three or more years of relevant security experience.
- Strong ability in Python, Scala, or Java, good coding skills
- Deep and broad understanding and experience with machine learning techniques
Experience Desired:
- Knowledge of binary files, embedded devices, disassemblers, decompilers, emulators

DATA ENGINEER
Summary
The Wikimedia Foundation is looking for a Data Engineer to join our team, reporting to the Director of Data Engineering. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, maintaining and expanding the shared data infrastructure that powers a big part of decision making in the Foundation as well as the Wiki Movement. This includes everything from building scalable pipelines using big data technology to defining and creating a suite of datasets which adhere to our privacy principles.
We are a fully remote, internationally distributed team. When there isn’t a pandemic around, we see each other in person 2-3 times a year during one of our off-sites (the last few have been in places like Majorca, New York and Prague), the Wikimedia All Hands (once a year in San Francisco), or Wikimania, the annual international conference for the Wiki community.
You will be responsible for:
- Integrating data from multiple sources to gain insights in areas such as content, traffic, editors, readership and fundraising
- Building scalable data pipelines in collaboration with other data engineers as well as teams across the foundation including product analytics, platform engineering, survey, research and machine learning teams
- Designing the shared data platform that supports use cases for critical aspects of the Wikimedia mission: harassment prevention, image classification, bot detection, DDoS attacks flagging and many more
- Building and maintaining public metrics and datasets
- Implementing data quality monitoring that alerts the team of possible data issues
- Implementing a data governance and lineage solution for all Wikimedia data
Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience
- Advanced working knowledge of SQL, relational databases, query authoring, ideally in a variety of flavors (in our team alone we deal with MariaDB, HiveQL, CassandraQL, Spark SQL and Presto)
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Scala, and Java
- Experience building data pipelines using tools such as Airflow, Spark, Gobblin, Oozie, Yarn
- Familiarity with stream processing systems using Kafka, Spark streaming and/or Flink
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

What You Will Do:
The Software QA Technical Lead (Sr. Staff AQE) will lead quality efforts for Stryker’s Connected Care R&D software projects. The Sr. Staff AQE will also provide inputs to the software R&D team and process from a quality perspective, partner with vendors to drive execution of testing strategies, and drive continuous process improvements. Select responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, business analysts, QA, external vendors, business partners) to ensure quality software delivery.
- Lead test strategy definition to include UAT, functional, integration, performance, system testing with testing tools, and test automation as appropriate.
- Lead remote testing team located across the globe to drive execution and results.

What will I be doing?
As a Senior Software Engineer at ProQuest, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing phases of the software development life cycle. As a Sr. Software Engineer on the Platform Services team, you will be developing and maintaining Java web services that are used to power ProQuest’s products.
In this position, you will also…
- Implement Java-based web services based on the needs of client applications.
- Work with the database team for all data retrievals and updates from our services. Knowledge of SQL is essential.
- Transition our service architecture from on-premises servers to AWS.
- Transition our services from Oracle to Postgres as part of a multi-year migration.
- Manually test, and build unit tests, for all the services you create or modify.
- Participate as a team member on various engineering projects and may lead small projects.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the function and design of our services and attend scrum team meetings.
- Suggest alternative methodologies or techniques to achieving desired results.
- Document our services for other developers that use them.
- Review and revise new procedures as needed for the continuing development of high-quality software.
- Provide technical training to other team members.
