You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing phases of the software development life cycle.
The Sr. Software Engineer will participate as a team member on various engineering projects, and may lead small projects, implement design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization through analysis of designs and problem-solving techniques, respond to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attends customer meetings and suggest alternative methodologies or techniques to achieving desired results. The Sr. Software Engineer will also write application technical documentation, review and revises new procedures as needed for the continuing development of high quality systems and provide technical training to other team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors’ degree or higher in related field, such as Computer Engineering or Computer Science, plus at least 6 years of software development experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with JavaScript software development.
Ability to learn and master standard programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with full-stack development, including Java backend development.
REST (or SOAP) interface experience.

What will I be doing?
The Security Architect, reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer, will drive the adoption and integration of security into the various platforms at ProQuest.
In this position, you will also…
• Define, document and promote security best practices, baselines measures, and mechanisms.
• Develop threat models and associated security architectures/requirements, and design appropriate mitigations to push security by design.

Summary
We are looking for a remote Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer with strong knowledge in application backend development to join our development team. This is a long-term full-time (40 hrs/wk) contract role.
What You’ll Do:
- Communicate with the Engineering Manager and with frontend developers to establish priorities and plan the application roadmap.
- Suggest performance improvements and provide assistance with application architecture design.
- Point out potential performance problems and suggest fixes.
- Develop new web services with Ruby on Rails.
What You Should Have:
- 4+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails applications (mandatory).
- Knowledge of JavaScript, and Postgres or MySQL.
- Experience with unit testing (rspec, Jest, etc.) and background workers (Sidekiq).
- Experience working from design docs/specifications and frameworks.
- Knowledge of Vue.js, React, Solr, service workers architecture, and advanced SQL (nice to have).

- Design and enhance the Leading Global Fixed Income e-trading platform for institutional investors
- Be part of a scrum team comprised of skilled technology professionals with the goal to revolutionize the credit and corporate bond markets
- Innovate and transform business ideas into highly utilized features and services for our customers
- Utilize industry standard technologies including: Java, AWS, Kafka, Oracle, React, Redis Spring Boot and others
- Implement and support products/initiatives from infancy to maturity
- Develop and design APIs in a microservices and/or event-driven architecture in the cloud
What You Bring to the Table
- 2-3 years of enterprise software development using Java
- Passion to be challenged and excited about the ability to be pushed out of your comfort zone!
- Familiarity with streaming technologies such as Kafka/Redis etc.
- Experience with microservices using Spring/Spring Boot (or ideally migrating from the monolith to microservices)
- Proven experience using react or angular is a plus!
- Experience with AWS is a huge plus though not necessary
