We are looking for a people-focused leader to come to join our team as a Manager of Software Engineering at Dispatch.  This role will leverage their technical acumen to lead, coach, guide, and mentor a team of Software Engineers.   • Participates in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency in the codebase, and to keep the team aligned

  • Co-owns the agile development process / software development lifecycle to ensure the engineering team is balancing new product development while addressing technical debt

  • Contributes to strategic vision regarding technical team and product architecture

  • Communicates performance goals and drives engagement through weekly 1:1’s, weekly team meetings, and bi-annual performance conversations

  • Utilizes the Atlassian suite of tools to document the product experience and requirements (Confluence) and leverages Jira to execute work/stories and keep the team informed of project status and any roadblocks to ensure work is completed in a timely manner

  • Stays current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications and professional networking

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 4+ years of leading high-performing software engineering teams (required) 

  • Expertise in building and supporting large, enterprise-scale, mission-critical applications (required) 

  • Ability to debug complex, distributed systems (required)

  • Proficiency with a object oriented programming language such as Ruby, C#, or Java (required)

  • Proficiency with Ruby on Rails or Javascript/React, and an ability to work on both backend and frontend (preferred)

  • Experience with React Native, iOS, Android, ElasticSearch, Google Maps APIs (preferred)

  • Bachelors in a technical discipline (e.g. computer science, mathematics) and MBA (preferred)

English Transcript Editor Description

We are looking for contract transcriptionists/editors to transcribe recorded audio and edit imperfect transcription using our proprietary internet-based software application. Since all transcription work is performed remotely, you will need a good computer and a high speed internet connection. As a contract transcriptionist/editor, you would decide which projects to accept, how much you work, and when and where you perform your work. To be a good candidate, you need to be able to provide expert transcribing services independently and be able to provide a quick turnaround on a finished work product (as a given project may require). In addition to the qualifications below, you are required to take and pass a series of proficiency tests to demonstrate your transcription skills prior to being engaged as a contract transcriptionist/editor.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us build functional systems that improve developer experience.

DevOps Engineer responsibilities include helping to design, expand and maintain our infrastructure, engaging with the rest of the tech team to arrive at solutions that help them perform better, deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integrations that meet the business needs. Ultimately, you will execute and automate operational processes fast, accurately and securely.

Responsibilities

  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Testing and optimizing systems to create a stable operational environment
  • Collaborating with the security team to ensure that systems are secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Knowledge of SRE best practices, i.e. developing tools that enhance the system performance, reliability and developer experience
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in Cloud architecture and Cloud design across multiple cloud platforms in a large scale environment
  • Cloud and automation engineering experience in a mission-critical environment
  • Strong experience and understanding in a cloud platform, preferably Google Cloud Platform
  • Ability to design, implement and document architectures and solutions using a mix of IaaS / PaaS / SaaS, DevOps and with a strong focus on automation, internal compliance, monitoring, documentation and cybersecurity
  • Ability to design serverless architecture and create automated deployments
  • Experience with server side languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, Golang and PHP would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in Bash, Makefiles and one or more scripting languages such as Python or NodeJS
  • Deep technical knowledge in automation tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with Ansible and/or other similar tools is advantageous
  • Strong skills and experience through the CI/CD stack that deploys to infrastructure elements such as Kubernetes
  • Knowledge in Networking Services
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of data migration practices and technologies
  • Experience with NoSQL, RDBMS, Graph DB, KV and column store are advantageous
  • Degree in Computer Science is advantageous
