Scalable Path is looking for a Frontend JavaScript Developer with Gatsby Experience to join the team and work on a client project. This is a remote, full-time position.

CLIENT COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
The client helps people re-connect with their European heritage through genealogy research, travel and dual-citizenship services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The client has an existing backend in development that uses Wagtail (a headless CMS) and needs a developer to build the frontend(s). They want to use Gatsby to consume the GraphQL API exposed by Wagtail. They have chosen Gatsby because it can provide a very fast-loading experience for customers and will be great for SEO. They will be developing multiple websites on different domains that are all powered by a multi-site instance of Wagtail CMS. Some of the components should be able to be re-used amongst the different sites (with different styling). The Wagtail backend (which is an open source CMS based on Django and Postgres) is hosted on Heroku (with files in S3) and the frontend may be hosted on Netlify (TBD). It's a big project. If things go well, you could end up being the lead architect on the project.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Work with the client to select a final frontend architecture including hosting
- Set up hosting and deployment
- Code frontend using Gatsby (React-based)
- Integrate with the Wagtail CMS GraphQL API
- Style the frontend using CSS (using a CSS pre-processor like SASS)

Experience needed:
- Solid experience using Gatsby to build complex static sites
- Experience using headless CMSs
- Ability to manage the client and your own time effectively
- Ability to take ownership of the frontend application from end-to-end

Note: The backend uses Wagtail, Postgres, Django, Python and Heroku, so if you have experience with these items that would be nice. Also, if you have great experience with Gatsby sites, but not with CSS, it is possible that the client could find a separate developer to focus on the CSS.

RELATIONSHIPS - WHO YOU'LL BE WORKING WITH:
You will be working directly with the Founder and coordinating with existing backend developers in India. The client is in the Europe/Rome (+01:00) CET time zone.

Blue Orange is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team to help build up our internal DevOps practice. We are looking for someone who will help develop and instill the DevOps mindset across the entire team at Blue Orange. This person should have a relentless drive to automate everything. The ideal candidate would have extensive SysAdmin experience as well as experience working in DevOps within an enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have experience across multiple clouds and deployment scenarios but must include experience in Azure and AWS. Blue Orange builds enterprise data platforms and systems for our clients, so this candidate should have experience with supporting modern data technologies. 

Core Responsibilities & Skills

• Provide leadership in applying DevOps principles of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery/Deployment pipeline development, writing, and managing Infrastructure as Code, Automated Testing across multiple software applications.
• Work with data teams to help automate the deployment and operations of data platforms deployed in Azure and AWS
• Work with Azure DevOps, Terraform, CloudFormation, and other Automation and infrastructure tools to build robust systems. 
• Support heterogeneous technologies environments including both Windows and Linux systems.
• Develop reusable, automated processes, and custom tools.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Advanced level Python and Bash scripting.

Feefo’s reviews platform runs entirely on cutting edge cloud based infrastructure and services. You will work as part of a small team responsible for ensuring that infrastructure is performant, scalable, secure and resilient, while identifying areas for improvement, proposing approaches to implementing those improvements and the impact of those changes. 

Your day-to-day work will be a mixture of interrupt driven work, providing advice and assistance to the product teams, identifying, diagnosing and resolving issues within the Feefo cloud platform as well as working on longer-term projects to improve the Feefo cloud infrastructure. The technologies you will be responsible for include IP networking and associated concepts (e.g. load-balancing, routing), Linux-based virtual machines, Kubernetes cluster and microservices, monitoring and alerting solutions, SQL and NoSQL databases.

You will report to Cloud Infrastructure Manager but will be expected to work closely with other departments within Feefo, particularly the product teams consisting of product managers and software developers who implement new functionality to the Feefo application -- ensuring that the cloud architecture to support the new functionality is best in class.

• Participate in the design and build of a complex cloud based infrastructure running a high-volume SaaS platform, including load balancers, networking, firewalls, Linux virtual machines, cloud scaling databases and associated technologies
• Identify, develop and implement tooling solutions to automate common tasks
• Work alongside the Feefo’s scrum teams to participate in the planning of work within an agile development environment
• Testing, debugging and troubleshooting of platform level problems in our live and QA environments
• Work with developers to test, debug and troubleshoot application issues and problems
• Working with product teams to ensure services are appropriately configured for production release considering predicted load volumes, scalability, redundancy and security requirements
• Prioritise and deliver recommendations and improvements in response to incidents
• Any other project or task as business needs require.

REQUIREMENTS 

• A degree in a technology related discipline, or previous equivalent commercial experience.
• Fundamental knowledge and practical experience of working with networking technologies, Linux based operating systems and database technologies
• A good understanding of concepts related to cloud platforms
• Proven ability to form effective working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to explain technical issues to other technical disciplines and non-technical people
• Demonstrates good planning and organisational skills to prioritise deadlines and cope with fluctuations in workload
• A systematic and analytical approach to problem solving
• Demonstrates an ability to develop, implement and improve processes
• Accepting that this role may need periods of working out of hours to address critical issues or other work that is unable to be scheduled during normal working hours.
