Overview:

The client is a small 5 person software company that produces a driver training application.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The client is looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails developer to join their team to help them rewrite their driver's education web app. The current app is written in Rails 4.2 and needs to be rewritten in Rails 6.0.

Most of the frontend HTML and CSS will be simply reused, so the vast majority of the work will be on the backend. However, some small improvements to the application will likely be made here and there, which will include a small amount of frontend work.

Experience needed for this position:
- At least 3 year track record developing Ruby on Rails apps (experience with version 6.0 is a plus)
- Confident with Git branching and merging and using Github.
- Solid discipline using CI/CD
- Strong experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Happy working with plain Rails testing and development conventions and keeping it simple
- Experience redeveloping existing apps using a strangler pattern

What You Will Do

The Airo Clinical Specialist is a brand new role with the Stryker Spine Enabling Technologies Team and will support several states across the central region of the U.S. As this is a high travel role, we are flexible with your home base being anywhere in the central U.S. and close to major airports.

The incumbent will provide clinical product support for the Airo TruCT to all end users (surgeons, hospital staff etc.) and provide on-site guidance and assistance during surgical procedures. You will:

  • Provide training and customer education to assigned account(s). 

  • Work within accounts to maximize the use of the AIRO product line, by ensuring customer confidence in our technology through consistent procedural performance. 

  • Develop, implement and enhance all resources necessary to properly service our customers and technology.

  • Provide surgeons and operating room staff with training and Clinical/Technical support in the operation of the AIRO’s technology and associated equipment to insure procedural efficiency.

  • Use proprietary software to prepare intra-operative scans for use in conjunction with the company's navigation system.

  • Experience developing with React Native

What you bring

  • You have previous experience leading an engineering team.
  • You have 3+ years of web development experience.
  • You have a solid grasp of object-oriented programming, cloud computing, automated software testing, databases, development, and testing methodologies.
  • You have a track record of delivering successful products as an engineer and a team lead.
  • You have experience guiding continuous improvement of process and technology.
  • You have experience in facilitating even the most heated discussions with conflict resolution.
  • Be proficient in managing all the stakeholders that are directly affected by what your team is working on and you are able to communicate expectations in a clear and concise way.
  • You thrive on providing and receiving honest but always constructive feedback.
  • A big plus is extensive experience with Amazon AWS.
