RV Life is looking for a senior full-stack engineer to work on a rapidly expanding ecosystem of RV-related apps. The developer will maintain a react app and implement new features on a web-based single-page application. The company is fully remote, so no relocation is necessary. You will just need a steady internet connection. We have several full-time developers that extensively travel while working.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate new features and develop new components using React

• Develop software in a fast-paced agile development environment using the latest frameworks and patterns

• Collaborate with engineers, product owners and designers on new product features

• Make recommendations for the adoption of new technologies based on your experience

• Pair with and mentor teammates to develop and design prototypes to improve the customer journey interactively

• Work through the software development agile process and its best practices, from continuously integrating code to production deployment

• Code review pull requests in a CI/CD environment

• Review requirements and provide input

Minimum Experience:

• 7+ years of software development

• 4+ years of experience on a team developing scalable web apps in a modern Javascript framework (React, NestJS) and with a state management tool (Redux, Mobx)

• Experience working with MySQL

• BS in Computer Science or other related fields of study or applicable work experience

• Familiarity with SCRUM as a development method for Agile Development

• Familiarity with standard security practices protecting customer data

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with React

• Experience with Laravel

• Experience developing location-based services with HERE Maps or a similar framework

• Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of design patterns

• Familiarity with Atomic Design, Responsive Web Design, and Mobile-First principles

Summary

We are looking for a remote Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer with strong knowledge in application backend development to join our development team. This is a long-term full-time (40 hrs/wk) contract role.

What You’ll Do:

• Communicate with the Engineering Manager and with frontend developers to establish priorities and plan the application roadmap.
• Suggest performance improvements and provide assistance with application architecture design.
• Point out potential performance problems and suggest fixes.
• Develop new web services with Ruby on Rails.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze security controls and compliance requirements for relevant security standards and frameworks (ISO 27001 required).
• Ensure timely compliance with data security policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements by Chorus One.
• Configure and run security tests of Chorus One’s public APIs.
• Monitor and conduct internal audits of the system environment, policies and procedures. Develop and maintain timelines, roadmaps, and list of required tasks for various teams.
• Document and communicate issues, triage resolution, and escalate as necessary to management and team stakeholders
• Gather suggestions and guidance to help engineers improve existing practices and technologies to align with the organization's risk appetite and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist sales in responding to prospect and customer inquiries about Chorus One’s security and compliance posture.
• Create procedural documentation, including training materials or process documentation.
