Diese Funktion ist eine Schlüsselrolle für die zukünftige, datengetriebene Organisation. Sie unterstützt dabei den Weg in eine datengetriebene Organisation zu forcieren. Daher berichtet die Position direkt an unseren Head of Project Management Office.
Die Rolle dient dazu Informationen über Datenbanken & Systeme hinweg zu konsolidieren, zu aggregieren, auszuwerten und daraufhin Empfehlungen für die Unternehmung abteilungsübergreifend auszusprechen. Das kann für die Analyse von Frachtkosten, Average order value (AOV), Profitabilitätsrechnungen, Marktanalysen oder Datenbankanalysen über unsere Systemlandschaft gelten. Die Aufgabe stellt sicher, dass wir unseren Kunden in den Vordergrund stellen und sämtliche Datenbanken, Prozesse & Analysen auf diese ausrichten können. Hierfür kann es sein, dass du in der Logistik, dem Vertrieb, dem Kundenservice, der Warenwirtschaft oder dem Bereich Finance Ansatzpunkte finden musst. Wenn ein Delta entsteht, dass unsere Profitabilität gefährdet, findest du den Grund dafür. Der erste Schritt ist dafür bereits getan: wir haben ein erstes Dashboard in Power BI für alle Abteilungen. Jetzt geht es darum, dass wir anfangen Korrelationen zu bilden (bspw. Average order value, minimum order quantity, Cluster, Logiken, Einkaufsverhalten/Produktanlage). Nun geht es mit der wirklichen Business Intelligence los und dafür brauchen wir einen Subject Matter Expert (m/w/d) für BI. Der Fokus der Rolle ist unser Kunde. Was passiert, wenn bspw. ein BI Modell von dir konzipiert wird? Wir sind am Anfang dessen und benötigen jemanden, der uns in eine datengetriebene Organisation bringt. Im Idealfall lernen wir durch dich zeitnah „vorausschauende“ Geschäftsmodelle für Potenzial / Bestandskunden (Cluster) zu bilden.
Dein Beitrag:
- Analytik und Prozessorientierung: du analysierst die (systemischen) Schwächen der Systemlandschaft und leitest daraus Handlungsempfehlungen ab.
- Reporting, Monitoring, Standardisierung und Datenqualität: du identifizierst Schwachpunkte in der Datenqualität, setzt qualifizierte Reportings auf, vereinfachst und kommunizierst diese.
- Bereichsübergreifende Analyse: du optimierst den Prozess durch Analysen vom Opt-in bis zur Rechnung durch Analysen.
- Management Summary: durch deine Aktivitäten wird im Bestfall in Echtzeit durch wenige, simple Reportings klar, wo wir stehen.
- Sparringsparter: abteilungsübergreifend bist du der Sparringspartner (m/w/d) und unterstützen uns tatkräftig und proaktiv.
- Datenschutz: steht für dich an erster Stelle – genau wie unsere Kunden.
- Automatisierung von Schnittstellen (Reports)
- Unterstützung bei der Analyse der Digitalisierung unserer Kunden / - der Kundenbetreuung (Stichwort: was benötigt unser Kunde, um digitaler bestellen zu können, Was machen wir falsch?)
Dein Profil:
- Kaufmännisches Studium oder relevante Ausbildung/Weiterbildung.
- Erfahrung in einer vergleichbaren Tätigkeit mit der Befähigung den „Handel“ und dessen Themen betriebswirtschaftlich zu verstehen.
- Deep Dive: Du hast Spaß daran aus großen Datenmengen Muster und Korrelationen zu erkennen und darauf basierend unser Geschäftsmodell zu optimieren/weiterzuentwickeln
- Du fühlst dich in Business Intelligence Tools sowie Datenbanken wohl (bspw. eines der Systeme wie Access, SPSS, R, Pyhton, Power BI Tools (stark bevorzugt), Office Tools…)
- Bereitschaft sich in neue Tools und Infrastrukturen einzuarbeiten und diese zu analysieren
- Du hast ein ausgeprägtes Analyseverständnis und kannst komplexe Zusammenhänge einfach und präzise erklären.
- Du bist sehr motiviert und dazu bereit Eigeninitiative zu zeigen – auch unter Einhaltung von Deadlines
- Fließende Deutschkenntnisse (C1) und sehr gute Englischkenntnisse (B2)

SUMMARY
WELL is looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, growing engineering department. You will work directly alongside a team of bright and motivated frontend engineers, under the guidance of our Sr. Frontend Engineering Manager.
Your primary role will be assisting in developing core functionality on the product. You will also help drive team discussions and decisions around processes and technologies to improve code quality, user experience and team velocity. There are many opportunities to make a significant impact and grow as an engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams, including Product, QA, and UX
- Break down requirements, plan and estimate tasks using agile methodologies
- Build out new features and functionality on the WELL platform
- Actively drive team discussions to define and implement new technologies and coding standards
- Manage the operational deployment of a scalable frontend application
- Write high quality, effective tests to prevent bugs and grow test coverage, in order to improve product stability, and increase team velocity
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) with a strong grasp of CS fundamentals
- Up to date on the latest Javascript features and capabilities
- 4+ years building web applications using several frameworks including React
- 2+ years React JS experience
- Experience with unit testing frameworks including Jest
- Deep understanding of build systems and tools such as Webpack
- Ability to translate designs into mobile friendly styles using preprocessors such as SASS
- Expertise in working with a range of APIs (REST, websockets, etc.)
- Eager to solve challenging problems regarding algorithms, data structures, and web application performance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
BONUS
- Experience with the following tools or technologies:
- Redux, React Hooks
- AWS services such as Cloudfront, Lambda, and S3
- Typescript or another strongly typed programming language
- Database systems such as Redis, Postgres, and MongoDB
- Query languages such as graphQL
- Component libraries such as Kendo UI
- Experience working with distributed teams
- A history of working with Scrum processes
LOCATION
WELL is headquartered in Santa Barbara, CA and is opening an office in Los Angeles later this year. Today, all WELL positions are remote, and we are looking forward to when our company returns to in-office work. We are open to candidates that are looking for a permanently remote role depending on their level of experience. Historically, remote team members visit the Santa Barbara office regularly, and we’ve found that works best when they are on the West Coast, specifically in Southern California.
