Strong technical background, as well as deep understanding of modern product management (Marty Cagan, Dan Olsen etc school of thought) and modern software development (Tom & Mary Poppendieck, Woody Zuil, Allen Holub, etc) practices will be critical to your success. You are able to speak both with engineers as well as product managers and designers in their own language and build trust, credibility and joint success in delivering valuable customer outcomes.

Requirements

• 10+ years in hands-on engineering roles (4+ in senior / principal level)
• 5+ years in developing enterprise grade SaaS platforms
• Solid understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework, modern devops practices (devops maturity framework), microservice architectures, and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms
• Solid understanding of OOP, relational database design, functional programming, and PHP/JS/MySQL
• Experienced in Mob Programming with a track record of successful facilitation
• Solid understanding of Lean ("Lean Software Development" [Poppendieck], "Goal" [Goldratt])
• Deep understanding modern Product Management techniques ("Inspired" & "Empowered" [Cagan], "Lean Product Playbook" [Olsen], etc)

We are currently seeking a Full Stack Engineer - Level II to join our team! In this role you’ll work with a dynamic team of professionals who are all driven towards a common purpose: to change the world of technology and its impact on healthcare.

The Full Stack Engineer - Level II will develop and maintain all full stack components of our Swift Skin and Wound software. They will shape and evolve the ecosystem for integrations into our platform as we scale with more use cases and areas of extensibility. This role also partners closely with the Product Team to design the best solutions for clinicians,  enabling them to enhance the patient experience.

Responsibilities 

• Champion innovation and change for full stack web components 
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps & QA to design, develop and deploy new features and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Work with external integration partners to build deep integrations within the healthcare technology space
• Investigate, troubleshoot and recommend fixes for bugs and performance issues across the stack, from our React / Redux frontend to our Ruby on Rails, node.js backend microservices
• Provide technical leadership in every stage of the development lifecycle, from analysis and design to program coding, testing, release and maintenance 
• Influence how and what we build with demonstrated technical expertise and full understanding of user experience and interfaces
• Partner with DevOps on release management, continuous deployment, and automation

Qualifications 

• 3+ years of full-stack development experience and an excellent command of engineering fundamentals
• Experience developing distributed services making use of modern Web frameworks, preferably with some full-stack experience;
• Experience writing well-tested code (RSpec, Jest etc.); 
• Experience with Node.js, Ruby on Rails and/or  React is considered an asset 
• An innate curiosity to continuously learn and teach, refine your craft & critical thinking and demonstrate ownership & accountability

Required experience

• Strong background in software engineering, e.g., a CS degree or equivalent fundamentals.
• A business oriented approach when it comes to data modelling, monitoring and analysis.
• Professional experience of one or several relevant areas:
• Designing, building and scaling robust, integration heavy, distributed systems and microservice using REST or gRPC.
• Cloud-based back-end services using serverless technologies like Google AppEngine or Kubernetes.
• Data modeling and processing services like CloudSql, Firestore, BigQuery and Apache Beam (Dataflow).
• Business oriented auditing and observability using Grafana and Prometheus/Loki.

The team

Our Product Development team consists of around 50 very talented, motivated and humble product managers, engineers, designers and music experts. We strongly believe in product-led growth where the product itself is the primary driver of customer acquisition, conversion and expansion. To support that journey we are now strengthening our Growth Engineering team. 

Growth Engineering is focused on online customer activation and conversion. Today’s customers want to try before they buy a service, so the team constantly optimises our acquisition funnel to make it compelling and simple to start a trial. During the trial, the team focuses on giving new customers a great experience where they quickly find value in our service. Growth Engineering collaborates frequently with many other teams such as Analytics, Product Experience and Business Systems. Together with our Analytics team, we use Mixpanel for event tracking to help us understand our users’ behaviour. On a daily basis, you will conduct A/B tests, acting and reacting to data-driven initiatives. 

You will be coming in contact with a variety of programming languages and platforms, but since this is a front-end oriented role, FE-based technologies should be your main strength. As you will work closely with our users, UX and/or UI experience is something that we expect and also highly appreciate.

Our front-end is written in JavaScript (ES6) and built around React and Redux. We are currently transitioning to GraphQL as the query language to obtain and modify data. React Native is used as a front-end in the iOS and Android apps, which makes it possible for front-end developers in Product Experience and Growth Engineering to implement new features and improvements.

Required experience

• Well-versed in modern web development, HTML, and CSS
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (preferably including EcmaScript 2015 and beyond).
• Worked with a JS frameworks such as React, React Native, Angular or Vue.js.
• Previous experience of building robust and maintainable front-end systems.
• Strong knowledge of the current era of web browsers, including mobile variants.
• Experience of using Git, or a similar distributed source management system.

Meriting experience

• iOS and/or Android app development 
• Experience with PHP development (our Storefront is built on Kirby CMS)
• Experience with working as / with expertise in UX/UI development - a user-centric approach in product development.
• Knowledge of front-end development and build pipelines using Webpack/Rollup or similar.
• Having worked with SEO, conversion rate and/or page speed optimization.
• Professional experience of container based deployments using Docker/Kubernetes.
• Experience of automated front-end testing.
• Basic knowledge of functional programming.
• Familiar with agile development methods like Scrum, Kanban, or variations thereof.
